Channel NewsAsia Short Films Series

SINGAPORE: Local personalities from seven countries shared their inspiring stories in Living Well, Saving Lives and being the Guardians of Tradition, a series of short films produced in early 2017 to celebrate their achievements. The series premiered in conjunction with Channel NewsAsia (CNA)’s aims to produce factual content that resonate with regional viewers.
Co-executively produced with former journalist Lau Joon-Nie under the helm of Factual TV (Singapore), we initially pitched 62 stories (10 countries) to CNA. Of this, 28 stories (8 countries) were commissioned. Due to circumstances beyond the production’s  control, the final tally was 18 stories from 7 countries. Eighty personnel comprising journalists, filmmakers and post-production in Malaysia and Singapore raced to complete the short films – all completed in 39 days!
In Malaysia, we produced and post-produced four stories:
Guardians of Tradition: Melvin Chan, Biscuit King
Guardians of Tradition: Sandra Paut, Native Chef
We also post-produced these stories from Indonesia:
Guardians of Tradition: Asoka Remadja, Instagrammer
Guardians of Tradition: Alfian Ahlis, Pinisi Boat Maker
