Safeguarding Policy

Protecting Children & Vulnerable Adults

First Edition: January 2025
Updated: 9th January 2026

At Factual TV, whenever our productions involve children or vulnerable adults, their safety is my top priority. Whether you’re a freelancer, cast member, crew, or partner, this is what I expect from you—and what you can expect from me.

Who This Applies To

Everyone I work with must follow these rules. Breaking them could lead to contract termination, disciplinary action, or legal consequences.

My Core Principles

* Zero Tolerance: Abuse or neglect is never acceptable
* Respect & Inclusion: Treat everyone fairly, no matter their culture, gender, or background
* Accessibility: Everyone should be able to participate safely
* Speak Up: Always raise concerns if something feels wrong
* Cultural Awareness: Respect Malaysia’s traditions while keeping safety first

What I Expect From You

* Treat everyone with respect and consideration
* Follow the “two-adult” rule—never leave a child alone with one adult
* Get written consent for child participation or photography
* Do not abuse, discriminate, or contact children privately, including online
* Stay sober while responsible for children and vulnerable adults

Child Working Hours

Age | Max Hours/Day Off Hours
<15 | 6 hrs 8 PM–7 AM
15–18 | 7 hrs 8 PM–6 AM
Performances must be safe, licensed, and under 4 hours.

If You See or Hear Something Concerning

* Listen calmly
* Record key details (date, time, what happened)
* Report immediately to the Safeguarding Officer=
* Emergency? Call Police (999) or Talian Kasih (15999)
I handle all reports confidentially, investigate promptly, and protect anyone who speaks up.

Legal & Policy Compliance

I follow Malaysian law (Child Act 2001, Persons with Disabilities Act 2008) and review this policy at least once a year.

A Malay language version of this policy is available upon request.
