Jaring & Jaringan (Nets & Networking) – A Documentary on Malaysian Fishermen and Community Resilience

Jaring & Jaringan (Nets & Networking) is a powerful Malaysian documentary film that tells the story of fishermen struggling to survive during the first 85 days of the country’s inaugural Movement Control Order (MCO), implemented to curb the spread of Covid-19. As fishermen cast their nets to catch fish, the documentary explores a bigger question: will it take a united network of Malaysians to ensure everyone survives this challenging time?

The film highlights themes of compassion, unity, and Malaysia’s intangible cultural heritage, inspiring ordinary Malaysians to embrace inclusivity and resilience in the face of adversity. By showcasing real-life struggles and community support, Jaring & Jaringan captures the human spirit and the strength that comes from working together.

Currently in pre-production, Jaring & Jaringan is set to premiere on Radio Televisyen Malaysia (RTM), the nation’s public broadcaster. The documentary is proudly supported by the Digital Content Grant from the Ministry of Communications and Multimedia Malaysia and the National Film Development Corporation Malaysia (Finas).
