Peat on Earth Exhibition Now Online

Following the success of the Peat on Earth exhibitions in Malaysia and the UK, the exhibition is now available online starting November 1, 2025, and will remain open to visitors until further notice. The poetry and spoken word films are organised into five themes: Introduction to the Habitat, People & Folklore, Open Topic, Nature, and Climate. Each film was developed following two days of field exploration and engagement with the rangers, local communities – birdwatchers, and members of the indigenous Temuan people who share deep knowledge of the peatland environment.
By showing Kuala Langat North Forest Reserve in Selangor, Malaysia (MY), alongside Foulshaw Moss Nature Reserve in Cumbria, United Kingdom (UK), the themes help viewers see both the similarities and differences between these two special peatlands. The young poets share their own experiences through poetry woven into the films, capturing what it feels like to connect with these underappreciated landscapes. These peatlands are also important carbon stores, helping to slow down climate change while supporting wildlife and local communities.
