\u201cPeat bogs and swamps are vital for climate change mitigation, yet their importance is often overlooked and communicated in ways that don\u2019t engage\u2014especially with youth. As the Malay proverb goes, ‘Tak kenal, maka tak cinta’\u2014if you don\u2019t know it, you won\u2019t love it. This creative experiment uses poetry to bridge the emotional and knowledge gap between urban audiences and the peat forests. I’m grateful to the British Council for supporting this journey. I hope visitors of all ages come to the spoken word exhibitions from August to October and leave with a deeper love for, and sense of responsibility toward, ‘Peat on Earth<\/em>‘\u201d – Leong Hon Yuen<\/strong>, Founder, Factual TV<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

For 16 years, documentary producer and director Leong Hon Yuen has been dedicated to telling stories that matter\u2014stories that spark conversations, offer perspectives, and shed light on important issues. With a background in media, Hon Yuen launched Factual TV<\/a> in 2009 and has since had films commissioned by organisations like Pulitzer Center, Channel News Asia, A&E Networks and Discovery Channel.<\/h5>\n\n\n\n
