\u201cWith how things are going in the world, all I want to do these days is retreat into the soil and become one with the earth that created me. Malaysia is renowned for its lush rainforests, and I\u2019m excited to shine a light on a lesser-known yet equally vital ecosystem: the mighty peat swamp forest! These unique wetlands are rich in biodiversity, store massive amounts of carbon, and play a crucial role in regulating our climate. Malaysia is celebrated for our warmth and hospitality, and I really want to welcome our audiences into these rich, often-overlooked landscapes with that same warmth and care<\/em>.\u201d – Kimchi Lai, poet from Kuala Lumpur<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kimchi Lai<\/strong> is a bilingual poet, translator, and social media manager based in Kuala Lumpur. She has performed at Urbanscapes<\/em> (2018, 2019) and won third place in the 2018 Asia Pacific Slam<\/em> at Singapore\u2019s Lit Up Festival<\/em>. Her work, exploring language and cultural expression, has featured on The KITA! Podcast,<\/em> BFM\u2019s Speak Easy<\/em>, and IAMB<\/em>. She self-published Solace in Solstice<\/em> in 2019.<\/h5>\n\n\n\n
